How to
Always imagine that you spin poi in the horizontal and vertical line.
Move your arm to the next position when poi spins inside ( to sholder ).
Open your sholder when you spin poi in behind, horizontal position. Otherwise you might heart your shoulder and also you won't have comfortable space.
Once you practice all the position for a while, move the other arm without poi and feel the balance of the body, arm and poi.
Practice both arm, and both direction.
