It's good to alternate the arm which comes on the top when crossing.
Being able to do this helps to keep the poi spin balanced.
Backward
Switch the arm that comes on the top when crossing and try to be able to spin at either position.
Tips
Backwards spin could be difficult to grasp the feeling and maybe sometimes you cannot do well.
If you are not sure of the movement, practice with just one poi. And as you get used to it ,the other hand moves as well as if holding the poi.
After you practice this for a while, hold the poi in both hands and practice.
